For the third straight week, Brad Keselowski took the checkered flag in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race. Keselowski opened the Playoffs Round of 16 with a victory in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Keselowski survived a wild playoff opener to score the 500th victory for Team Penske and to move on to the second round. He held off Kyle Larson in a shootout to the checkered flag to score his 27th career Cup win. Contenders Erik Jones, Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, and Denny Hamlin, all suffering ill-timed poor results and finishing 32nd or worse.
The Round of 16 moves on to Richmond Raceway for a night race this Saturday night.
