Kansas Speedway hosts today’s “Hollywood Casino 400”, the 5th race of the 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the 2nd event in the Contender Round. Tune in for live coverage starting at noon on 94.9 FM and fm95online.com.

For the 12 drivers remaining in the title hunt, there are 1,976.58 “Miles-2-Miami.” The 12th edition of the post-season Chase will conclude November 22nd at Homestead-Miami Speedway, at which time only 4 drivers will remain in championship contention.

After last weekend’s win, Joey Logano has the points lead going into today’s race. Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex, Jr., Denny Hamlin, and Kurt Busch round out the top 5…all within 10 points of Logano. Matt Kenseth has his work cut out for him after last week’s disappointing run. He dropped 11 positions in the standings and is in 12th, 45 points behind Logano.

Chase drivers have won the fall race at Kansas Speedway 7 straight years and 8 of the 11 years the post-season format has been in place. Jeff Gordon, the #13 seed in this year’s Chase who is currently 7th in the post-season standings, is tied with Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson for the top spot in Cup Series wins at Kansas. Each has 3. Gordon’s victories came in 2001, 2002 and May 2014.

Johnson won this year’s first race at Kansas Speedway back on May 9th and with another victory Sunday, he would become the first driver with a season sweep on the Kansas City oval since the track began staging 2 races annually in 2011.
