Polar Plunge 2023 to benefit Special Olympics Illinois

UPDATED 02/27/2023 –  There were 147 plungers at the Polar Plunge on Sunday (2/26) who raised a total of $45, 439!! Thank you to all the plungers, those who donated, event volunteers and everyone involved with supporting the more than 800 Special Olympics athletes located throughout Region F of Special Olympics Illinois!

Be Cool. Take the Galesburg Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics Illinois athletes across the state, helping to provide them with life-changing programming! This includes year-round training and competition, as well as leadership, personal development, and health education opportunities. This year’s event at Lake Storey Beach in Galesburg is Sunday, February 26, and will be hosted by the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run.

  • REGISTRATION IS FROM 12:30-1:45 P.M.
  • COSTUME CONTEST ON THE BEACH AT 1:45 P.M.
  • PLUNGE IS AT 2 P.M.
